I live in Utah and I have extremely hard water. Getting a water softener is not really in the overall plan right now. However, the hard water was beginning to ruin my toilets and sinks. My toilet bowl looked like I never cleaned it. Believe me, I did, several times a week in fact. Well, I needed to do something about this! My friend, Liza, reminded me of the Scouring Stick. I had used it once before and I remember it working but I had not bothered to use it again. Liza reminded me of how easy it was to remove hard water stains with this miracle stick called the scouring stick.
All you do is go to the store and purchase the scouring stick and put some gloves on and start scouring your toilet. You will be amazed at how easy it is. I have yet to try it on my sinks, but that’s the next scouring project here at the Homer home. This miracle stick is not expensive, as you would think. It’s around $3. You can find it in the cleaning aisle at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart. I’m sure you can find it other places as well. After you try it you will be amazed!
Testimonial: After hearing Rachel rave about how well this scouring stick worked, I (Missy) decided that I needed to try it. I was pretty skeptical about it because I had tried just about everything I could think of to clean one of my toilets and it just would not come clean. I tried many different kinds and brands of toilet bowl cleaners (which promised me a sparkling clean toilet!). I tried straight bleach. I tried baking soda! I tried scrubbing super hard (elbow grease!). I thought I just had to deal with having an embarrassingly dirty-looking toilet (or get a new one), even though I ‘knew’ it was clean. I apologized frequently to those who went upstairs to use it because it looked so gross. Even though I knew it was hard water stains, it really bugged me that it looked dirty. I heard Rachel mention this magical stick and I immediately went to Lowe’s to see if I could find it. I wasn’t sure how it’d work but I figure for $3 it was worth a try. To my surprise it worked incredibly well! I opened the box and hesitantly began to scrub the hard water stains with the stick. Imagine my shock when the hard water stains started to disappear! I was shocked and super excited! I scrubbed away for several minutes and had a toilet that now looked clean! I highly recommend this little tool if you have hard water! One caution: don’t scrub too hard or you can scrub the finish off. Start light and then apply more scrubbing power if you need it!
Sometimes it’s the little things in life that are annoying (like a dirty-looking toilet bowl that you cannot find a way to get clean). Sharing helpful information friend to friend is what we are all about here at Behind our Doors!
